Another nugget from the Tennessean article is that Alderman Kayce Williams stated that she returned her campaign donation to Hawkins on May 1. I did some digging and found that Alderman Williams' most recent campaign disclosure form did not list a disbursement to Mr. Hawkins at all. How do you not include that on your disclosure form? What's the excuse?
Who knew that hiring an attorney to represent the BOMA would be so challenging? Doesn't this seem like something the previous admin would have botched. I blame Mayor Graham and Aldermen Whittenburg, Zemek, Williams, and Hudson for this crazy mess. Did they not ask important questions during the interview process? According to Alderman Mitchell, Mayor Graham did not ask one single question. Aldermen Hudson and Whittenburg didn't even show up. How's that for representation? How could those two have even made up their minds on changing attorneys without hearing one answer from any of the five potential candidates. Mitchell took them to task again stating that those five votes were already determined before the meeting. I find that statement hard to argue with.
Some things never change.
